Project Overview

In September 2023, PT Elbema Integra Indonesia successfully completed Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections using advanced crawler scanning technology on 17 storage tanks at Meares Soputan Mining, North Sulawesi. This project was part of a routine maintenance program designed to ensure the structural integrity and safety of tanks supporting mining operations.

Over a span of 7 working days, the technical team employed state-of-the-art automated crawler-based UT equipment capable of performing highly precise, non-destructive wall thickness measurements with optimal efficiency. The crawler technology enabled full access to tank surfaces, including vertical and hard-to-reach areas, eliminating the need for time-consuming scaffolding or disassembly.

Inspection data was captured and digitally processed in real-time, producing accurate thickness maps and condition evaluation reports. This modern technology approach facilitated swift decision-making by Meares Soputan Mining’s engineering team for targeted preventive or corrective maintenance actions.
